Original R4 DS is from R4 DS Team which is created earlier than R4 SDHC cards which comes from R4i SDHC Team.

Original R4 DS and the R4 SDHC is basically the same device. Both are second generation storage devices that do not require a booting tool. Both are flush fitting slot-1 cards that support any Micro SD card speed with no lag time in game play.

The original R4 only supports up to 2GB MicroSD cards, while the R4 SDHC supports up to 32GB MicroSD cards. R4 SDHC card is stronger in function and compatibility. But In regard to the price, R4 DS is much lower than the R4 SDHC.
