    R4-SDHC Card Package

Step 1. Package contents Verification

Please make sure your R4-SDHC card Package that mark the domain name “www.r4i-sdhc.com” on it and package like the top picture show:

Please verify that you have the following items at your R4-SDHC card Package:

  • The R4-SDHC cartridge.
  • A MicroSD TF card reader.

Step 2. Download R4-SDHC Kernel

If you simply insert the MicroSD card into the R4 SDHC card and power on your console, the R4 SDHC card will be unable to start: in fact, you need to place specific R4 SDHC kernel at the root of the MicroSD card.

Step 3. Setting up the R4 SDHC card

The file that you download is a compressed archive. The last bit of the file name is “.rar”. Compressed archives may contain one several files, you need to extract those files and copy them onto your MicroSD card. If you feel unsafe about what you are doing, we recommend that you ask a friend or a relative that can help you proceed with the following instructions:

  1. Download the archive (mentioned in the above step) to your computer.
  2. Insert the MicroSD card into your MicroSD card reader.
  3. Insert the MicroSD card reader into your computer.
  4. Open the file explorer of your computer and open your MicroSD card drive.
  5. Extract all the files from the downloaded archive to the root of the MicroSD/SDHC card.

At this point, your MicroSD card should contain the correct system files for your Nintendo DS R4 SDHC. You may also want to copy additional files to your MicroSD card such as games, applications, media, documents…

Step 4. Using the R4-SDHC and enjoy

Once you have correctly configured the MicroSD card, the instructions are simple:

  1. Insert the MicroSD card into the R4 SDHC card.
  2. Insert the R4 SDHC cart into your Nintendo DS or DS Lite console.
  3. Turn on your console and let the R4 SDHC menu appear.

Once the R4-SDHC menu appears, you have a choice to start a game or application, to play media files or open documents, and to configure your R4 SDHC cart settings.
