1. Package contents verification

Please make sure your R4i Gold Package that have domain “www.r4ids.cn” on it and package like the top picture show:

Please verify that you have the following items at your R4i Gold Package:

• The R4i Gold card
• A MicroSD card reader.

2. R4i Gold Kernel downloads

If you simply insert the MicroSD card into the R4i Gold and power on your console, the R4i Gold will be unable to start: in fact, you need to place specific Nintendo DS R4i Gold Software at the root of the MicroSD card.

3. Setting up the R4i Gold Card

The file that you download is a compressed archive. The last bit of the file name is “.rar”. Compressed archives may contain one several files, you need to extract those files and copy them onto your MicroSD card. If you feel unsafe about what you are doing, we recommend that you ask a friend or a relative that can help you proceed with the following instructions:

1. Download the archive (mentioned in the above step) to your computer.
2. Insert the MicroSD card into your MicroSD card reader.
3. Insert the MicroSD card reader into your computer.
4. Open the file explorer of your computer and open your MicroSD card drive.
5. Extract all the files from the downloaded archive to the root of the MicroSD card.

At this point, your MicroSD memory TF card should contain the correct system files for your Nintendo DS R4i Gold. You may also want to copy additional files to your MicroSD card such as games, applications, media, documents…

4. Using the R4i Gold 3DS Card

Once you have correctly configured the MicroSD card, the instructions are simple:

1. Insert the MicroSD card into the R4i Gold card.
2. Insert the R4i Gold cart into your Nintendo DS or DS Lite console.
3. Turn on your console and let the R4i Gold menu appear.

Once the R4i Gold menu appears, you have a choice to start a game or application, to play media files or open documents, and to configure your R4i Gold cart settings.
